The objectives of adopting this semester system is providing the students a chance to migrate to regular colleges and make the value of the Degree equivalent to the regular college’s degree

procedure for the various school of open learning courses carried out according to the rules set by DelhiUniversity. DU SOL exams are also heldbyDelhiUniversity. After completion of the respective courses, the school of open learning degree is provided by the University of Delhi as it offers to students of other regular colleges of DU. There is no difference in the curriculum followed by DU SOL and other regular colleges of Delhi University.
The undergraduate/postgraduate school of open learning COURSES are made available by the School of open learning DU under subjects of commerce and humanities. The instructions related to the examination and course syllabus is circulated by mail to the students who are enrolled in the school of open learning. Personal contact program is also held by DU SOL in the study centers for supplementing the students with all relevant information related to SOL COURSES. Experienced and trained SOL DU Staff is also present at the main campus of the school of open learning for helping the students academically.
Also, the DU SOL has a well-maintained library to give the students a broad exposure to the knowledge related to the courses offered by the School of open learning DU. Moti Bagh in New Delhi has a study center of the school of open learning for the students to commute. An experienced team of teachers is always present at the main campus for academically helping the students.

The courses offered by DU SOL 2019 are affiliated with the Delhi University, they provide a framework of the classes that the students can choose from. There are various courses that SOL DU offers to their candidates under the field of distance education for under-graduation and post-graduation degrees. These courses belong to fields like commerce, humanities, and the ts. The undergraduate program is of 3 years and a post-graduate program of 2 years same as that of the regular course colleges. DU SOL undergraduate courses offered and eligibility –

Bachelor of Arts (Honours) English

Minimum Eligibility:65% score at 10+2 level in a case or any recognized board
Specific need:70% score in English language and an aggregate of 60% in class 12th out of a weight of 100 marks will lead to direct admission of the candidate.

Bachelor of arts (programme)

Eligibility Criteria:40% or above score in 10+2 level examination from any school or recognized university.

Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in pol science

Minimum Eligibility: 50% aggregate with pol science as a subject in 10+2 level examinations from any recognised board
Specific need: 60% without pol science and 45% with pol science aggregate marks lead to direct admission.

Bachelor of Commerce (pass)

Eligibility Criteria: 40% or above score in 10+2 level examination from any school or recognised university.

Bachelor of Commerce (Honours)

Minimum Eligibility: 60% aggregate in any technical stream with commerce as a subject.
Specific Requirements: Numbers of seats for Hons in business data processing are limited, and admission is based on merit.

Online Registration


When the students register online for the school of open learning, they will get a username and password. This username and password will be used by the student to log in to the portal, and he/she will be able to fill the application form, check the results, download ADMIT CARD, assignments can be downloaded and the password can also be recovered.

Admissions in PG SOL COURSES are held in August to September and are also advertised in national daily newspapers. Availability and dates of the prospectus are mentioned in it. The students are needed to attach all the necessary documents along with the form as told in the prospectus. The prospectus is made available at the main campus in north Delhi or at the south Delhi campus at Moti Bagh.

DU SOL arranges classes for its students to attend on every weekend so that they can clear their doubts and also gain more knowledge. Attending SOL DU classes is not compulsory. To improve the students’ academic performance he/she is suggested to attend the classes conducted by SOL for them. It also gives the students an opportunity to interact with their college mates.

Students receive a text message regarding the availability of their study are the steps to collect it:-

  1. SOL DU sends a text message on the student’s registered mobile number regarding the study material and its availability. The message will contain important details.
  2. The details which will be mentioned are – the name of the student, campus name, place to collect his/her study material, window number, last date of collection etc. a student should be up to date regarding important information.
  3. The students will then have to visit his/her allocated campus and collect the study material from the window number mentioned in the text message sent to him.

The University of Delhi releases DU SOL Hall Ticket online on the official Website. Candidates have to see the official website to download the Hall Ticket. Additionally, it was informed that it’s candidate obligation to download DU Sol Hall Ticket.

Candidate will get the link to download the hall ticket on this page once it is available online. Du Sol Hall Ticket is required for appearing in the examination. No candidate will be permitted within the exam hall without Admit Card. So, be certain to get the printout of the hall ticket and then proceed into the exam hall. In 1962, SOL (School of Open Learning) was introduced under the Delhi University; it was earlier known as“School of Correspondence Courses and Continuing Education”. DU SOL was founded as an Institution of Distance Education in India. SOL is the pioneer in distance learning institutions and followed by IGNOU ( Indra Gandhi Open National University )
